Hvam (Denmark), March 2004 – Krone is currently producing about 100 refrigerated trailers for the British vehicle rental company Transrent. This major order from Transrent includes 29 Krone Cool Liner refrigerated trailers with standard fittings, 29 Cool Liners with an adjustable partition wall and 36 double-compartment Cool Liners with a partition wall and double evaporator system. All the vehicles, including their refrigerating units, are being produced at the Krone plant in Hvam, Denmark.
When this order has been delivered, Transrent will be using over 200 Krone refrigerated trailers. Dr. Jürgen Föhrenbach, spokesman for the Krone board of management, is extremely satisfied: “A major order like this is a real achievement for us, particularly in view of the fact that we have only been selling refrigerated vehicles on the British market for two years”. Krone plans to expand its activities in Britain and has recently added two new members of staff to its British sales team. They are responsible for marketing not only the refrigerated trailers produced in Denmark, but also the entire Krone commercial vehicle range.
During the 2003 financial year, the commercial vehicle division at Krone generated a new record turnover of 408 million euros, exceeding the result for the previous year by just under 23 percent. Overall, the Krone Group, which is owned by Bernard Krone Holding GmbH & Co. KG, has reported a turnover of 612 million euros - the highest ever recorded since the company was founded almost 100 years ago.
